The Dead Letter magazine was a UNI arts and literary magazine. It featured poems, fiction and nonfiction writing, and art. The magazine was originally called Inner Weather before changing names c. 1986.

Draftings In (Student Publications)
Draftings In represents a new direction for the University of Northern Iowa Board of Student Publications: publication of noteworthy research and writing by UNI graduate students. Draftings In seeks to penetrate the often lonely domain of the scholar with samples of what fellow scholars at UNI are about. This series is designed to print interesting essays and valuable research for the university community and for the public at large. -Editor's Preface, v.1 n.1

Free! (Student Publications)
Free! is a short lived literary-art magazine that was published by the University of Northern Iowa Board of Student Publications in 1973.
The UNI Social Research Center conducted a campus survey, A Study of Student's Attitudes Towards Free Magazine: Final Report, that involved approximately 10% of the student population. According to the Director of the of the Social Research Center, over eight hundred questionnaires were sent out and only 27% were returned. Based on the survey results, it was recommended to cut the Board of Student Publication's budget which resulted in the cancellation of the magazine.

This journal has CEASED PUBLICATION. The Journal changed its name to the International Journal of Global Health and Health Disparities in 2004 with Volume 3, Number 1. Volumes/Issues run from v.1 (2001) to v.6 (2009).
The International Journal of Global Health was a peer-reviewed international journal dedicated to studying public health in diverse and medically underserved populations around the world. The Journal examined the effects of public health education efforts on individuals and populations, as well as methodology for providing effective public health programming.

The Iowa Science Teachers Journal, co-sponsored by the Iowa Academy of Science and the University of Northern Iowa, is dedicated to the improvement of science teaching and to the stimulation of interest in scientific studies. The journal was published in print format from from 1963 (vol.1) to 1994 (vol.31 no.1). It was revived as an electronic journal in fall 2005 (vol.32 no.3; vol.32 nos.1 & 2 were never published), and continued publication through winter 2012 (vol.39 no.1). Vol.1 through vol.10 issues show the title as Iowa Science Teachers' Journal.

The Iowa Academy of Science began publishing the Proceedings of the Iowa Academy of Sciences in 1887 and continued until 1987 when it became known as the peer-reviewed Journal of the Iowa Academy of Science. The change coincided with the 100th Annual Meeting of the Academy concluding a process that began in 1971 when the Proceedings became a quarterly periodical which included papers that had not been presented at the previous annual meeting.
The Journal of the Iowa Academy of Science (1988-present) was preceded by the Proceedings of the Iowa Academy of Science (1887-1987).

Major Themes in Economics (CBA Journals)

This journal does not accept unsolicited articles. All papers selected for Major Themes in Economics are written by senior economics majors as part of a capstone course at the University of Northern Iowa. The volumes here constitute the second series of Major Themes in Economics, which began publication in 1999.
The original series consisted of 10 volumes and ran from 1985 to 1997.

The Lawrence M. Jepson Endowment and the UNI Department of Economics invite submissions (abstracts or papers) to the Annual Undergraduate Research Conference on International Economics.
- Eligibility: All undergraduates are eligible.
- Deadline for abstract submission: March 21, 2023. Abstract word limit: 200.
- Topic: *Any research on international/global issues including but not limited to international business, trade, finance, immigration, health, labor markets, gender, and development.
*The research could include senior thesis, major academic papers completed or in-progress through coursework. Co-authored papers are permissible. If multiple authors of the same paper wish to apply, they may submit one paper. - Awards: *All papers presented would receive a $50 award along with a digital badge and a certificate.

Science Bulletin was a service bulletin for teachers of high school science. It was published monthly during the academic year by the Extension Division and edited by the Departments of Natural and Physical Science at the Iowa State Teachers College (now known as the University of Northern Iowa).
The bulletin was published from February 1929 through April 1932.
Signature (Student Publications)
Signature magazine was a student magazine published at the University of Northern Iowa in 1976. It featured items such as short stories, poetry, and artwork.

UKL: The Journal of Ursula K. Le Guin Studies
UKL: The Journal of Ursula K. Le Guin Studies is a peer-reviewed, annual publication focused on the work of Ursula K. Le Guin and scholarship on that work. The primary goal of the journal is to provide a space where a diverse range of Le Guin-related scholarship can be encouraged and sustained.
