Abstract

The main purpose of the study is to investigate comparative consequences between two teaching approaches. The PRISMS approach and a non-PRISMS traditional approach, were employed in this study. Students' attitude towards physics related to those two teaching approaches is also examined.

In order to obtain statistically significant results, a sample with 180 11th grade young people was randomly chosen from the population of 565 students. Several scholastic assessment instruments were used to test students' achievement and examine students' attitudes towards physics. Integrated Process Skills Test II, High School Physics Test I, and Force Concept Inventory were employed as tests in this research.

The data resulting from the pre-tests and post-tests were described by the arithmetic mean, a common measure of central tendency. The z-score and T-test were also used to indicate how different was the PRISMS group compared with the control groups.

The results of the study showed a higher scores for PRISMS students than for non-PRISMS. A significant correlation between learners' attitudes and teaching strategies was also discerned.

Statistics showed that as greater reasoning was applied, the higher were students' performance scores.
