Abstract
It is the purpose of this study to examine the standards of industrial arts teacher education in Iowa and its bordering states. These states are: Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska., South Dakota, and Wisconsin. In looking at the standards data will be collected from the standards set up by the various states. In the outline of the paper the writer stated that information would be obtained from college catalogues in the various states that indicated an industrial arts teacher curriculum. This would give semester hours of industrial arts required by the various colleges to be compared with the state standards given for 1965. Upon closer examination of the college catalogues in the library reference center the writer discovered many catalogues missing and several not up to date. Time did not allow a letter to he sent to each college asking for a catalogue so this portion of the paper was omitted. There would have been approximately thirty colleges involved and all were state supported schools except for two.
