Abstract

The problem with which this investigation is concerned may be stated as follows: Is the study of seventh grade mathematics more meaningful when taught with the use of certain manipulative devices or when taught without their use? This study is an attempt to determine whether students taught with the use of manipulative devices are inferior, equal, or superior in terms of standardized test results, certain test questions and certain subjective evaluative techniques.
