Abstract

The study of office occupations is predicated on the belief that vocational courses and curriculum offered in modern high schools should be organized with due consideration for the needs of the workers and employers in the area in which the school is located. The researcher recognizes the fact that educational theorists differ in their philosophies relative to the value of evaluating the educational program of a school through the medium of a community study. In this study, however, the researcher has followed the philosophy of vocational education theorists who believe that a vocational program of studies should be based upon the needs and recommendations of employers, as determined through an occupational study.
