Abstract
This volume was written to provide a concise reference on foreign trade while, at the same time retaining the fundamental ideas. It is written primarily for persons who have previously covered this area but need to review the basic concepts before making interpretations of other information relating to the subject. Effort has been made to maintain a chronological sequence so not only the ideas but the way they were developed may be apparent. This thesis should provide one of the requisites of a good teacher, that of a command of the subject.
