Abstract

DNA looping within the chromatin structure of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, also known as brewer’s yeast, can be studied using the 3C or “chromosome conformation capture” methodology. Minimal research has been conducted utilizing digital PCR to assess such structures. An analysis of the length-dependence of gene loops, one specific type of DNA looping with physical interactions between promoter and terminator regions of a gene (Figure 1), will provide insights into the mechanical properties of the underlying DNA.
