Abstract
This university honors thesis details the creation and early development of The Cedar Falls News Hub (CFNH) social media, a nonprofit digital news organization serving the Cedar Valley community. The project is a mosaic of the principles of branding, graphic design, social media planning, journalism, and communication, all combining to assist in launching the CFNH and building its identity. Through weekly collaboration with the CFNH founders, I designed brand assets, developed a social media presence, and wrote original articles. The deliverables included new logo concepts, social media graphics for posts, and three original written pieces. Not only did this project contribute to launching the CFNH in February 2025, but it provided me with real experience in project management, graphic design, and digital media, ultimately propelling me into my post-graduate years with confidence and readiness.
