Abstract

In recent years, many major science curriculum development projects have promoted hands-on, practical activities as an effective and an enjoyable way for students to learn science content (Hodson, 1990). After a quarter of a century, the phrase "hands-on science" is part of the everyday vocabulary of science educators, particularly those at the elementary and middle school levels (Flick, 1993).
