Abstract
It is clear that the topic of resistance training in youth has often been questioned over the 30 years. Participation in youth sports continues to rise, and along with that has come an increase in youth strength and conditioning programs. That is why the purpose of this literature review is to provide comprehensive information regarding the safety and efficacy of youth resistance training. Safety will be defined as protecting the well-being of the child or adolescent, while efficacy is used to describe what results a youth resistance training program can produce.
