Abstract
The Northwood Public Library of Northwood, Iowa, was founded on January 29, 1907, with the first meeting of the Northwood Library Association. The library opened to its 109 subscribed members on April 26, 1907. On October 14, 1925, the Northwood Library became the Northwood Public Library. 3tate library officials assisted the Northwood Library's Board of Trustees with the planning for the operations of both the subscription and the public libraries.
Four areas in which research was focused upon during the twenty-one year period (January, 1907- December, 1927) studied included the population served by the library, changes in the geographic location of the library, the collection and the staffing of the library.
