Abstract
Units of instruction need to be properly aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). The adoption of these standards in the state of Iowa has required teachers to rethink the way they teach and the materials that have been used to teach students. The EQuIP rubric is a tool for educators to evaluate how well existing units are aligned to the NGSS. This creative component analyzes units from a biomedical science course to determine the quality of unit design, instructional supports, and assessment as it relates to the NGSS.
