Abstract
Although an annual event in this country is the celebration of Father's Day, but many of the statistics uncovered by the author of this paper show a civilization which is rapidly becoming a fatherless society. Never before have so many men abandoned their children. In 1986, this country crossed an important landmark--for the first time in this nation's history a majority of poor families were father absent (U. s. Bureau of Census on Poverty, 1992).
