Abstract
Group counseling is experiencing a growth in popularity in career planning and placement offices due to the increase in the number of students seeking these services. In addition, group counseling offers several advantages over individual counseling (Powell and Kirts, 1980). For example, group techniques provide levels of emotional support not found in one-to-one interaction (Powell and Kirts, 1980). Also, reinforcement supplied by one's peers produce a motivation for continued exploration and self assessment.
