Abstract
This study proposes to determine if there is a significant difference in the behaviors of single-parent children and two-parent children in grades K-7 of a south-central Iowa school district in order to justify developing teacher inservice programs to deal with these behaviors in the classroom, School enrollment records were used to arrive at a random sample of 34 single-parent children in grades K-7 and a control group of 3} two-parent children in grades K-7, The study used the Walker Problem Behavior Identification Checklist to measure the specific behaviors of "Acting-Out," "Withdrawal," "Distractability," "Disturbed Peer Relations," "Immaturity," and the Total Raw Scores for all five behaviors. The intended outcome is to indicate a need for related teacher inservice programs,
