Abstract

The media are the mode. They are the great facilitators in American life. Without media children would not be able to visit the moon, experience the birth of a tornado, or take part in the real life drama of Cortez or Pocahontas -- all in one day. Whether media are used at school or in the home they have a great impact on the way Americans spend their time and the information they receive.
