Abstract
As a result of an array of social and financial factors, changes in kindergarten programs over the last ten years have brought about a variety of attendance patterns. Beginning July 1, 1992 all kindergartens ln Iowa, both public and private, will operate a minimum of 180 days a year for at least 5 1/2 hours a day. These standards tentatively proposed by the Department of Education, as reported in the Des Moines Register (Lantor, 1987), will achieve statewide uniformity of attendance patterns.
