Abstract

Nonprofits Performing Arts Organizations must continually increase their fundraising efficiency to remain financially viable. For small and medium-sized organizations, new fundraising solutions must be found that leverage existing resources. This study reviews the literature on variables that motivate individual giving to nonprofit performing arts organizations. By identifying motivating variables that are common to fundraising and audience development, best practices can be developed that leverage the overlap between these two crucial management practices, creating greater organizational efficiency without additional resource inputs.
