Abstract
The fact that rapid evolution of ethene took place at moderately low temperatures in the presence of 1-pentanol suggested that the alcohol perhaps played a less evident role in the reaction than was previously supposed. The problem of this study is to elucidate the role of 1-pentanol in the reaction of 1, 2-dibromoethane with zinc .
