Abstract
The primary purpose of this study was to analyze academic preparations in relation to actual teaching assignments of social studies teachers in public, accredited Iowa high schools f or the school year 1962-63. A secondary purpose was to survey social studies high school programs. Class schedules from a number of high schools were examined and analyzed as well as daily teaching programs and major and minor preparations of social science teachers in public secondary schools in Iowa.
