Abstract
The purpose of this study is to discover which of highly recommended books are provided in a sample of Iowa's classrooms for five year old children. It is not the primary purpose to examine factors which influence the choice of books found in these classrooms. No attempt is made to evaluate the kinds of experiences children receive in the use of books which are provided.
