Abstract

The topic of gun rights has been a major issue in the 2016 US election. As Americans have heard countless news stories of gun violence, the executive vice president of the NRA has publicly stated that the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a guy with a gun. This performance takes a look at this debate, raising questions about the role that hegemonic masculinity play in this mentality.
