• Ideal candidate – room temperature half-metal.

• Heusler compounds attractive because of high Curie temperature.

• Various mechanisms altering spin polarization – mechanical strain, structural disorder, temperature, termination surface/interface, etc.

• FeCrZrAl: nearly spin gapless semiconductor.
