Alt text: The back of a vintage postcard is oriented horizontally. The text "post card" is printed in the center top along with the publisher's drawing of a woman's torso on the left. The woman has dark hair and is seen in profile, looking to the right. The upper right corner has been torn away, but shows the bottom of a green one-cent U.S. postage stamp. A postmark shows Waterloo, Iowa, April 1, 1909, 6 p.m. A line divides the left side, labeled "This side for correspondence," from the right side, which is labeled "This side for address." A handwritten message in pencil on the left side reads, "Hello Kid, how are you. I am fine. Nothing doing around here for a long time. The roads are fine now and so are the evenings. It looks like rain at the present." The right side is addressed to Miss Erma Bartendorf, Manning Iowa. A band below the postcard has the text "Palczewski Suffrage Postcard Archive."
