Alt text: Color illustration on a vintage postcard shows a young, blond girl dressed as a buccaneer in a red coat, white bloomers, and a blue bicorne hat with a long red feather, holding a large sword. The text "votes for women" is printed in at the top. The text below the illustration reads: "The spirit of 1776 today. No taxation without representation." The "1776" has been crossed out with a red pen. The artist's last name is signed near the illustration and reads, "Wall." At the lower left is a publisher's copyright mark: S. Bergman, N.Y., 1912. There is also a number in small print, 6342. A band below the postcard has the text "Palczewski Suffrage Postcard Archive."
