Project Description
I learned much more about aphasia, dysphagia, cognitive disorders, and apraxia of speech. In addition, I learned how to fill out multiple types of paperwork, dictate reports, and bill patients. I was able to conduct video fluoroscopic swallowing evaluations, educate the patients on what I observed, and dictate the reports. I applied what I had learned in grad school to real life situations and also was required to learn much more because each patient is so unique. My Amanda Marine - Covenant Medical Center professors did a great job teaching me, but my internship is what really prepared me for my career.
