Abstract
What are the downstream effects of education funding decisions in Iowa? To what extent do education majors at the University of Northern Iowa and teachers in Iowa understand current policy surrounding education in Iowa? This research answers these questions by evaluating and analyzing the knowledge education majors at UNI and Iowa teachers have regarding Iowa education policy. This research gauges political self-efficacy, teaching efficacy, and knowledge, finding that students and teachers report low levels of political efficacy. Additionally, knowledge responses show that teachers know significantly more than students. These findings hold important ramifications for attitudes toward education policy in Iowa.
