Abstract
The purpose of this study is to see the different effects that technology integration can have on students in the literacy content area. My inquiry took place in my third grade classroom located in Dumont, New Jersey. Included in this classroom of 15 third graders were nine girls and six boys. Of those students three receive enrichment services, one receives E.S.L. services, three receive basic skill instruction for reading, three receive basic skill instruction for math, and one student attends Speech twice a week. These students helped to provide me with data to drive my inquiry project and conclude with answers regarding technology and literacy. This study took place for approximately eight months during the months of September through April. The results showed an increased usage of websites at home centered around reading, along with an improvement in reading comprehension scores using the Accelerated Reader Program.
