Abstract

The unit examines space exploration and travel as one facet of astronomy as part of the Earth Science curriculum in a high school. In cooperative learning groups, the students work on group and independent hands-on activities. A culminating assessment project conducted in cooperative learning groups utilizes student technology skills. One intent of this unit is to help students understand the importance of asking the correct questions and thinking for themselves to solve problems through the various activities and lesson plans provided in this outline.
