Abstract
The purpose of this study was to review available research pertaining to the role of support groups and the effect on caregivers of Alzheimer's persons. In addition, the present study explored the importance of defining support groups differently for those of different racial backgrounds, and the difference between males' and females' perception of or participation in support groups.
