Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of a public cholesterol screening program in motivating participants found to be at moderate- and high-risk of CHD to take initial and personally appropriate action to reduce their cholesterol levels and reduce their risk of CHD. The degree to which the screening program achieved this objective was determined by analyzing the compliance of screening participants with the health recommendations they were given at the screening site.
