Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the existing literature in order to understand the relationship between school wellness policies and the impact they have on children's dietary behavior and physical activity. The study will take a look at various guidelines that should be included in school wellness policies, the most significant ones being on competitive foods, fundraising, physical education, and nutrition education. Additionally the study will examine the CDC's School Health Index (SHI) and how it has aided schools in both evaluating and improving their school wellness policies.
