Abstract

Library literature indicates a growth in the use of volunteers in libraries. The purposes of this study were three fold. it was designed to determine if volunteers are serving in high school library-media centers in the state of Iowa. In those centers where volunteers were not used, the reasons for not utilizing volunteers were ascertained. The third function of this study was to learn how volunteers are contributing to the media centers that engage their services.
