Abstract
Girls have enrolled in high school industrial arts classes for many years. In a thesis completed in 1958 (Haynes, 1958), it was recorded that 16 percent of Iowa's high schools enrolled girls in industrial arts courses. Today, it is a rare exception to find a high school industrial arts program that does not enroll girls. From district to district and year to year the numbers vary. It is the intention of this study to determine if the enrollment of girls is decreasing, increasing, or remaining constant. This information is needed to provide a further understanding of the enrollment of girls in industrial arts.
