Abstract
This study will examine two concerns relating to the social patterns of undergraduate music majors at the University of Northern Iowa. The first concern is whether or not undergraduate music majors have different patterns of social interaction and behavior when compared to their non-music major counterparts. In this, the researcher is interested in the truthfulness of many stereotypes that have been placed upon undergraduate music majors by their peers in terms of their so called "unusual" day-to-day activities. Are they quite different at the University of Northern Iowa? The second concern is interested in the inward feeling expressed by music majors as being subjected to stereotyping and labelling by their peers.
