Abstract
"In all my years in education, I've never seen anything like its dramatic growth in the past twelve months...it will sweep the country in the next few years" (Staff, 1986). A director in the New York Department of Education_ made that enthusiastic endorsement of telecommunications in education when reflecting on development in his state. Recent nationwide expansion of telecommunications efforts and rapid development of related technologies have boosted the potential of interactive television in education.
