Abstract
Many people ln society have negative feelings about science. This becomes evident during discussions with parents and other adults. Since negative attitudes are rarely associated with success, it seems that teachers must provide experiences In science which make students feel successful. What determines whether a person is successful in school? How and what is evaluated makes a difference. We owe it to students to provide varied means of measuring their learning and of expressing an evaluation that is positive.
