Abstract

Extending reading ability is one of the major goals of primary grades in the elementary school. All children do not progress in their efforts to gain literacy at the same rate. Because the American culture places such importance on literacy, children who gain reading ability slowly cause much concern for the school and their families. Parents want schools to provide programs that will help their children learn to read.
