Abstract
This study focuses upon the emergence of existential humanistic psychology, particularly as developed through the work of Carl Rogers. The study attempts to display how existential humanistic psychology, as expressed through the work of Rogers, may offer valuable insights to counselors working with adolescents in school settings. By assuming that adolescents are at the forefront of society in terms of planning lives in a fast-changing and often despairing climate, the conclusion is offered that the principles of existential-humanistic psychology might be particularly relevant to counselors who are working with the adolescent in schools.
