Abstract
According to the Report of the Commission on Reading summarized in the book Becoming a Nation of Readers (Anderson, Hiebert, Scott, Wilkinson, 1985), reading is a basic life ability. With the demands made upon today's students to experience in-depth thinking and reading, it is necessary for them to develop higher level reading abilities.
