Abstract
This research study was conducted to learn what media specialists in four Area Education Agencies in Iowa have on hand for geography materials; specifically, maps, globes, and atlases. Additionally, the study explored the adequacy of the geography resource (map, globe , or atlas) in support of the social studies curriculum, and the frequency of r e quests by faculty and student for maps , globes, and atlases. A questionnaire was sent to forty -one certified library media specialists in four Area Education Agencies (1, 6, 13, 16) in Iowa. Responding media specialists numbered thirty.
