Abstract

The process of going 1:1 across a school district can be daunting. This report describes the Monticello Community School District’s process of going 1:1 across the district. The district was at a place where purchasing additional computers would essentially put them at 1:1 while lacking common computers, professional development or a plan for the future. A technology steering committee was formed to determine a vision regarding technology and a strategic operating plan to complete the vision. Many factors were considered for moving forward in the 1:1 project. A 3-year strategic operating plan was created. Professional development, computer types, infrastructure and rollout were just some of the topics covered. As a result of the work and research, our district did approve going 1:1 across the district in the school year 2018-2019.
