A list of faculty and staff work related collections curated by Rod Library at the University of Northern Iowa.
Faculty and Staff can submit information about your publications directly to UNI ScholarWorks through a "Submit Research" link. This new feature allows you to share information about your work directly with ScholarWorks staff. Library staff will process your work and follow up with any potential questions.

Open Access Faculty Publications
This is a collection of Open Access publications by faculty and staff at the University of Northern Iowa. Most of the works in the collection have summary information (metadata) about the work with a link out to the publisher's website.

Open Textbooks @ UNI
Listed below are OER textbooks published at UNI since 2021. The following UNI-created OER textbooks combine to save UNI students more than $419,000 per year. They authored or edited by UNI instructors and published by Rod Library, in some cases in partnership with Iowa State University and University of Iowa. Due to external grant funds, the total UNI investment in these projects was just $15,000.

Open Educational Resources
This is a collection of Open Education Resources created by faculty, staff, students, and affiliates of the University of Northern Iowa.
SPARC considers Open Educational Resources (OER) to be "teaching, learning, and research resources released under an open license that permits their free use and repurposing by others... [this can include] full courses, course materials, lesson plans, open textbooks, learning objects, videos, games, tests, software, or any other tool, material, or technique that supports access to knowledge."

This is a collection of publications by faculty and staff at the University of Northern Iowa. Due to copyright restrictions, not all faculty and staff publications are available through our institutional repository. Only publications for which we have rights to deposit in our institutional repository are included in the collection. Most of the works in the collection have summary information (metadata) about the work with a link out to the publisher's website.
In addition, department pages have Faculty Publications sub-collections listing publications authored and edited by faculty and staff from the specific department.

A Faculty Book Gallery has been developed to showcase the book publications authored and edited by faculty and staff at the University of Northern Iowa. Only books for which we have rights to deposit in our institutional repository are included in the collection.
