Abstract
Operator training and standardized procedures are essential for a consistent finish quality and efficient production. Two case studies are presented that exemplify the potential that exists with operator training and process changes. The first involves a northern Wisconsin manufacturing facility that was attempting to improve its painting process, while the second is an Iowa wood-finishing facility attempting to improve the application efficiency of its staining process.
