Abstract
Layered manufacturing (LM) is a highly innovative and cost efficient technological tree that has found wide applications in science and industry. Compared to computer numeric controlled (CNC) machining, use of LM leads to the production of a complicated model at significantly lesser time, and no material in the form of chips is wasted. Current LM efforts are aimed at increasing the build speed and decreasing the cost of materials and equipment.
