Abstract
The use of advanced software packages for classroom projects in power and control system analysis is discussed. The PSCAD software package allows the class to familiarize with the solution of simple circuits that eventually become more complex. The MATLAB control toolbox is used to train students to determine the stability of the control systems. The students found the software packages to better understand the functioning of the circuits.
