Abstract
A discussion covers actual grease manufacture using industrial microwaves; modification of the initial processing unit to address shortcomings observed in large volume production batches; outcome differences in comparison with conventional jacketed grease reactors; other needed changes to the design of the reactor; characteristics of microwave systems; placement of the microwave transmitter; improvements in process efficiency and grease consistency; product properties of the resulting bio-based greases; and future research directions.
