Abstract

A study on the use of microwave energy in manufacturing greases has been carried out. Since the introduction of this technology, hundreds of batches of grease have been manufactured by a manufacturing company in the US The technology has also been licensed to a mixing tank firm that along with a microwave equipment manufacturer has begun to commercialize to the process industries. The effectiveness of microwave-based grease manufacturing kis highlighted, with emphasis on attempts to simplify the process. This is an abstract of a paper to be presented at the NLGI 80th Annual Meeting (Tucson, AZ 6/15-18/2013).
