Abstract
This abstract presents historical context and musical analysis of the vocal pieces performed in my recital at the University of Northern Iowa, November 28th, 2000. These compositions for the baritone voice by Handel, Schubert, Ives, Mozart, Finzi, and Massenet were chosen to demonstrate technique, versatility, beauty, warmth, expression, and interpretation.
