Abstract
Short stories are always a very personal thing. I invested a lot of emotions in my collection Love's Will Be Done and I feel the way the protagonists feel. My emphasis lies in the fact that all four protagonists are female characters. These are four different examples that monitor the struggle to live a happy life. Dreams are shattered, lives are taken and disillusion is the omnipotent feeling.. Four female personalities have to cope with the situation they are facing. As all humans, they are different because they are individuals. Thus, their ways of overcoming the problems are different, individual. The results clearly depend on the personal strength and condition of the character. The four protagonists have two things in common, their sex and their determination to fight for their right to love and be loved. Sometimes, they win and sometimes, they lose. Fate had hard lessons in store for them and unfortunately, not all of them ascend smiling out of the ashes. What they learn is that life is not fair, it bites. Their names or ages are not really important; they just stand for millions of other females all over the world. Nothing can make up for the pain and sorrow they experience. No one but them can win the fight. It is fear of losing love that breaks them down. Maybe all four females form one woman's life, only acting out different stages of her life.
